Re: SW Utah Annual Student Showcase
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 2:20 PMXiaoping Yu teaches Chinese cultural dancing here in St. George, but I've never been to the class or seen anyone do those dances here. As for Yummy People Eclectic Caravan, I've never even heard of them until now. -

Re: SW Utah Annual Student Showcase
Sat, December 29, 2007 - 5:27 PMYummy People is Lady Katia's troupe. Has Kari who studied with Hyam and then with Marcia and now sometimes with me as well), Amber (who is also my student at times and goes to Marcia's), Liberty, Vanessa, Jodi (who is also my student), Katrina, Karen Jane, Miriam, Little Kat, Jana, Tabitha, Tabitha's two little girls, and a few here and there.
I have Mel, Pamela was coming to my class until her schedule changed, Jillian (who also goes to Marcia's class), Bloody Anne Hatch (just love that name), Jodi, Amber/Kari at times (scheduling issues), Debbie, LuAnne, and a few others who come as their schedule permits--I had to cut my classes down b/c of grad school schedule.
Pamela, I have an instructional DVD I made of the choreographies we're performing--if you want to come and pick it up, you are welcome to perform with us in the group acts!!!! Or, did you want a solo?
RevaSundari is a breakaway group of Sha'Waza, plus we have Sha'Waza, Zarifa (Hyam's troupe), and Xiaoping Xu. -

Re: SW Utah Annual Student Showcase
Sun, December 30, 2007 - 10:14 AMI'll pick up the DVD and see if I can learn the choreographies soon enough. But I don't have enough experience to pull off a solo and I've never even performed bellydance in a group let alone as a solo. Then there's the matter getting outfitted in something I could wear without
being too self-conscious. I have a 10 yard skirt, pantaloons, and two hip scarves. But what to wear on top? Something that covers a lot of skin because I don't like how white I am right now.
I could certainly get squared away in time for the next hafla though. -

Re: SW Utah Annual Student Showcase
Sun, December 30, 2007 - 10:23 AMI'm going to tell the info to someone (her name is Holly) who is on the other shift at my workplace. I also told my sister-in-law who lives close by (she want to go), and my husband knows about it. I can also tell my parents.
But I'm not putting info where just anyone (like people who have the wrong idea about bellydancing) can see it all and make mischief.
