Now that the lovely Yasamina has joined us across the border in Colorado, who is running the annual festival in Salt Lake next year? Please tell me that someone is!

Wed, January 2, 2008 - 10:00 PMIt depends. Oryantal Dansi (Ariana and Keziah's troupe) is holding a fundraiser to get them all down there. Plus they need to get permission from all the parents and proper chaperones. If they can manage that, then they will be going. Since currently there is no Kismet dance company, they won't be there. I believe Jason is trying to get a dance troupe there, and I think he has some backups in case Oryantal Dansi can't do it. -

Thu, February 21, 2008 - 11:36 AMI just saw something about that today on the Meeting of the Tribes website. He's not doing the big festival this year, but he plans to do it next year. It also sounds like nobody is going to do it this year.

Fri, February 22, 2008 - 9:18 AMI'll be at the Helm event for sure. But I'm still going to go up north sometime before Helm comes here or maybe the week after.
If there are no bellydance things going on up north when I go, that's okay. One thing I do know is that I won't be going to Jason's bellydance competition event that he's planning to have in September because it's the sane week that Helm will be down here.

Thu, March 6, 2008 - 12:02 PMUtah's Annual Bellydance Festival is taking this year off. There will, however, be a bellydancer competition happening sometime in the fall. Keep an eye on Jason Roque's website: www.meetingofthetribes.com for updated information regarding all upcoming events related to the former Kismet. Hopefully the festival will be back going strong in 2009.
